Halloween, part 1

Hit the Stake Trunk or Treat last night, going to ransack Chuck & Anne's neighborhood tonight with the entire clan. It's gonna be fun...

Rick has been battling a cold so he didn't feel like dressing up this year. The family is still trying to decide if he's forgiven or not.

Gardens make me happy

With a new puppy this year (she already destroyed all my new strawberry plants) I didn't even bother trying to plant a garden out back (it's killing me).

To cope I've been planting petunias like mad. I've always loved this beautiful little flower....and the name just makes me smile for certain dorky reasons.

Oh Harry, how I've missed you....

Ok, so it's been far too long since I've blogged about my dear sweet Harry Potter.

I miss the world of Harry Potter, I miss being able to sit down and immerse myself in one of the books for hours. Someday soon my friend, we will meet again.

Only three more weeks until I graduate.......then boards......

THEN I will have "a life" again. Then, oh then, I will once again pick up one of those delicious books.

Aaahhh!

Until then, thankfully, there is this wonderful new trailer for movie #6, The Half-blood Prince.

Potter-camping Mania

Soooo, this was the amazing weekend that the last Harry Potter book came out. Our ward had planned a campout at a local reservior but I figured, "Hey! I can do both." So we loaded up our gear & my Hermione costume & set off for the campsite. We got there & everything was fine, I was going to be meeting some friends in town (Rick preferred to stay behind & sleep w/ the kids) so we could all go to the party but at the last minute they had a change of venue, but I was still going. We got the kids ready for bed & then right as I was getting ready to leave my moment came, time to decide where my loyalties lay.

The sprinklers came on, not just "oh, let's water the flowers" sprinklers...gale-force sprinklers under & all around our tents. So, I forgoed the chance of being one of the first to get the book (I am so proud of me right now) & stayed to save my family & tent from getting soaked. (the kids were laughing the entire time)

In the process I was drenched completely & we got a late start. So I showed up as plain ol' wet Erin but still got my book w/in 20 minutes of the 12:01 release time. yippie!

Oh my gosh!!! This me (obviously) getting my brand-new HP book!!! I had some girls in line take the picture for me, I swear I felt like I was 12 years old I was so excited!!!!!
Since I didn't get to wear my Hermione costume I got my picture taken with these 2 fabulous girls, I'm sure they pretty much thought I was crazy. I went back to the campsite & read the book w/ my headlamp into the night.

Back to the camping part of the story...isn't he too cute?

Trevor's first-ever ride on a jet ski...

Oiliva was so excited about the whole thing she fell asleep on our Bishop's lap. (I love how you can see Trevor peeking his little head up so he could be in the picture)

Oh my gosh & holy cow!!!

Wow, wow, wow!!! Oh my goodness! Harry Potter month is here at last! We went & saw HP #5 last night & oooh boy! By the time it was over my face hurt from smiling so much, I felt like I was 12 years old or something. I think this is the first movie that even once it started I was still thinking, "I am so excited!!!"
The opening scenes literally had me jumping in my seat, totally freaky...

The D.A. was awesome, they showed all the best parts & totally captured all the secrecy & feeling behind the students' rebellion...

I sooo loved the entire ending sequence, loved the fact that the kept the original gang together for the trip to the Department of Mysteries...

...& of course I simply adore the trio, their acting skills are much improved & the interaction between them is great in this movie! If any of you have even remotely considered seeing this movie....go now!
*sigh*
I want to see it again already.

I am a Harry Potter geak

So, I waited a whole entire 2 days before saying anything about Harry Potter on my blog. But I can't wait any more!!! Let me just say that this summer is going to rock, with movie #5 & the final book coming out I just can't wait. Here's a link to one of my favorite sites: www.mugglnet.com
