Trevor "graduated" from kindergarten last Thursday.
What did I learn?
That I am a horrible mom because I think the whole idea of graduating from kindergarten is ridiculous. Yes, like a proper mother the night before he started school I was bawling my eyes out on the floor of my closet, clutching my phone as I sought comfort from my mom.
But really? It's just moving from one grade to the next. Not a new campus, not a new school. And besides, it was torture for him to sit still that long. (shocker, I know) Besides, some of those little girls were literally dressed like they were ready for prom. I tried taking a few pictures as proof but they ended up being blurry, probably because I was laughing.
Of course, he was adorable & there were plenty of hilarious moments, like when his teacher was trying to collect the American flags from the kids at the end of their song & Trevor was taunting her & holding it just out of her reach. OR, when the kids all filed off the stage at the end & Trevor was the last one standing all alone on the stage....and he picks his nose. Nice, good one Davis.
But still. I sat there the entire time wishing on a star that we were back at my work for the 50's sock hop that was going on....finger steaks, patty melts, homemade onion rings, & root beer floats. Mmmmm! (the kids would've had way more fun there anyways)
Eh. At least he chose Taco Bell for dinner afterwards & there was a great thunderstorm. That part was cool.
