Our new digits:

cell #'s:
Rick 208-954-6252
Erin 208-954-6251

Just wanted to do a quick post to give you our new phone #'s over in the Boise area. I'll drive back home to Pocatello tomorrow night after work, we'll load up the moving van on Thursday, & make the drive over Friday morning. We'll probably be out of contact online for a few days when all that happens.
Wish us luck!

The joy of packing

I must say that aside from the stress, being pregnant is a great time to move. I have had this amazingly strong nesting urge for over a month now & lucky for Rick I haven't had the time to scratch the itch.....until now!
(I'm an insane nester... I build things, remodel 1/2 the house, etc.)

Muaa-hahaha!

Now, 1 dumpster & 3 trips to the DI later, I have completely & totally gone through each room in our entire house & storage area & either tossed or DI'd anything that wasn't move-worthy. (thanks millions for all the help Jacqui)

Aaaah, the release.

**Addendum: just so you know, now that I'm done with my psycho-nesting spree poor Rick is the one left at home to pack it all up while I'm over in Boise. You rock honey!

Our house! (rental)

So we ran over to the Boise area this weekend for a quick look at homes to rent. Thankfully we've known that we wanted to move to that area for a few years now so we'd already narrowed down a few areas. Still, there was a lot of looking, some good, some not-so-good.
But the last one we looked at on Saturday we just fell in love with, so here's our new home:

We move on the 30th, yikes!

It's a brand new 4 bedroom/ 2.5 bath, 2076 sq', 3 car garage, huge rooms, soaker tub & large walk-in closet in the master suite, .... lots of fun stuff.

Dining room, w/ view into wash room, garage on left, 1/2 bath on right.

the "Harry Potter" closet under the stairs & view into living room/ front entrance

view from the back porch...

upstairs bathroom

one of the 3 other bedrooms (all the bedrooms are upstairs)

landing/ rec area upstairs

GINORMOUS master closet

Erin has a job..... now in BOISE!

Ok, so I got another job offer this afternoon from a facility in Boise who is willing to match my current pay but put me on salary. Since we were wanting to move to the Boise area anyways we decided to take it.

So.... we are moving to Boise!
As soon as the next 2 weeks in fact, they want me to start next Wednesday or Thursday.

It is a RN manager position at a Long-Term care facility. I will be overseeing the care of all the residents by the LPN's, CNA's, & med techs at the facility in addition to doing the assessments on new/ changing residents & facilitating care between the resident, family, home health, hospice, etc.
It is a full-time position and I will be rotating on-call with the other nurse. The benefits sound good and my brother-in-law knows of the place & says it is a good facility.

We are really so very excited at this great opportunity, great job, & chance to be by family.
As always, thanks for all your prayers!

Erin has a job!

So I got the official offer this morning & go in tomorrow to finish filling out paperwork.
(I was a little suspicious last week when they had me do a drug test & background check immediately following my interview)

I have a job!!! As a real-life nurse!

For those of you familiar with Pocatello (yes, it's here & not in Bosie) it's at Hillcrest Haven, an assisted living facility. It's not the most glamorous RN job but as a good friend pointed out, it's still a job using the degree I earned & they pay higher than most anywhere in town. Besides, with the way the economy is right now we're grateful for it at all.
We're still planning on relocating to Boise in the near future but for now we're happy to be blessed with this opportunity.
Thanks to everyone who has been keeping us in their prayers.

My little surgeons....

Oh, to be a parent, to be so proud!
So, if you have been following our family's blog over the past year you will remember a few posts about our little cat, Tonks. There was this incident, and then this one... oh, and then this time.
Yes, it's time, I have another story.
Poor Tonks, but you know... she really does set herself up for these stories, she can run faster than the kids if she wants to.
So, yesterday morning we were getting ready to head to the store & both of the kids were in the kitchen. Rick walks in there to tell them to get their shoes on & here is the scene he finds:

Trevor & Olivia have Tonks pinned on her back on the kitchen table & we can hear them talking to her.
"About what?" you might be asking yourself.....

"Hold still, I'm a doctor... you're going to be ok, you need to hold still"

Well, apparently they also had a butter knife & were "doing surgery" on her stomach. Something they saw nothing wrong with & were totally fine telling their Dad about.

Needless to say, they got a major time-out for that one as Rick & I laughed in the other room.

Trevor's 5th Birthday

Yesterday was Trevor Dean's 5th Birthday... yikes!
I can't believe how quickly time has flown by, he used to look like this:

.... & now he's in Preschool.
We had the Caywoods & the Wertz's over for dinner, cake, presents, & Wii.
What a fun night, we have such great friends.

The Bat-cake & cupcakes, as requested.

I just love this look on Brynnah's face... "ewww, frosting!"

Nice one!

Ryan took it upon himself to try out all of Trevor's toys to make sure they were in proper working order. I think he got every single one out of it's box.

Mmmmm......

Christmas 2008: part deux

So we made it back from Boise last night & how did we celebrate our homecoming?
Davis Christmas 2008: part 2!!!!
That's right folks, these lucky children had Santa so confused that he visited them both at Aunt Jaime's house & right here in good ol' Pocatello.
(Lucky bums)
A BIG thank you to everyone who helped Santa out in Pocatello while we were away (Grandpa Russell, Tito, Grandma & Papa Davis, etc.)

He's been asking Santa for a bike for about 364 days now... way to go big guy!

Livvy got a bike too but was more excited about her dolls.

(his birthday party this year is going to be "Batman" themed)

Trevor got a scooter from Gandpa Russell, nah, he doesn't like it at all:

... especially since there's all this snow outside he keeps riding it around the house (gee, thanks Dad).

This way friggin' cool water bottle filters up to 500 gallons of water.
I mean really filters, as in E. coli, coliform, giardia, & cryptosporidium (just to name a few).

Fishing!!!
can't go wrong with the classics...

This was actually one of the first pictures, I kind of went in reverse.

And, as a side note... for Erin's special part 2 Christmas present she got her laptop back today.... good as new (sorta, still re-installing everything) but it works!
Wahoo!!!

Thanks to all our "Boise" family & friends for putting up with us over the past 10 days. We had a blast, even with the ones "all the way in Nampa".

Stay tuned for Trevor's 5th B-day tomorrow.
We're gonna need a nap....
