Taking a look back

So, since I hate it when I look at other people's blogs & for weeks nothing changes. Even though I haven't taken any new pics lately (for those of you wanting to see our new place, I'll post pics soon, I promise) I decided to go back into my old files and pull out a few of my favorites that (hopefully) I haven't posted here before. ...hope you enjoy!
You know when you're at the store & your kids haven't napped all day & they insist they're not tired at all until wham-o, they hit "the wall", & then nothing in the world can keep them awake?
Well, this is just one of the many times I've had to improvise a bed or pillow for Trevor at WalMart, there must be some sort of sedative pumped into the ventilation system in there.
I think that this one should be sent into the Viva paper towel Co. & that they should use it in their advertsing.

For those of you who don't know, this is my father-in-law, Dennis.
This was Olivia's b-day party in April, it was a Tinkerbell theme & everyone, including Papa, had to wear their party hat....talk about one for posterity.

This was last winter up at the Lancaster (Davis) family holiday party in Star Valley, WY. Olivia just looks too cute here.
In April Chuck & Anne (Rick's brother) came out to Bosie to look for homes, so we drove over there to visit. While we were there we took the kids to the park to play & Trevor jst had a blast with all his cousins...and just look how stinking cute he is!

Catching up a bit

So, a lot has happened in these past few weeks. We are now 100% moved out of our house (notice how I didn't say unpacked or moved into the new place yet) & we offically closed on our house 2 days ago, yippie!
Since school started the week that we moved (3 weeks ago) we've really only been able to unpack the basics. I'm hoping that somewhere around Thanksgiving we'll be done.
(not kidding)
Olivia found these toy tweezers & decided that her toes needed to be cleaned out...odd child, no idea where she gets it from.
Trevor has worn this outfit nearly every day since he found it hidden in his closet during the move. When he first tried the entire getup on he accidentally scared Olivia, ever since then he tells her when he's putting it on that "it's just me, Trevor, I don't want to scare you."
The other night he was convinced that he had to wear it to bed, Dad won that battle.

While we were packing Olivia found one of the true joys of childhood...the little packing bubbles. I think she popped every single one on this sheet.

No, I have not decided to become a junkie, this is what happens when you are a nursing student.
Other nursing students get to blow your veins repeatedly, I mean...uh, practice starting IV's on you. My partner actaully blew 3 of my veins this particular day. (To be fair, the bruises on my upper arm are actaully from moving boxes.)
So, the next time some nurse starts an IV for you, thank her for the hours of practice she put in before she started poking you & thank her colleagues for letting her practice on them instead of you.

...same bruise, next day. Isn't medicine fun?

I start my clincal rotations in the O.R. in 2 weeks, so cool.

Kids in the garden

It was sad to leave my wonderful garden behind when we moved but the buyers said since they don't know anything about gardening if I help them out I'm welcome to whatever I want. Yes!
I love this picture, we had two volunteer sunflowers this year & this one was just too pretty to resist. Gorgeous photograph, if I do say so myself.

Aunt Roxie would be proud... I call this my "going to Farmer's Market to sell my wares" box. Not that I actually sold my stuff at the market but every week at church I bring a box like this to give away. We've got zucchini, summer squash, yellow squash, cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, green beans, lettuce, spinach, onions, & tomatoes.

Yes, these are my zucchini plants. They were monsters, as you can see,

Olivia literally could get lost in them.

Mmmmm....doesn't that look good?
I was pretty proud of my lettuce, it went insane this year.

just a cute pic of the kids to keep the grandmas happy...

I call these last two the battle of the cucumbers -vs- the squash plants. One poor roma tomato plant got stuck in the middle & if you look closely you can see a cucumber vine taking it over too.
