Amazingly-awesome Brownies

An update to an old favorite of mine. Getting rave reviews, if I do say so myself.

Brownies:
2 cubes butter or margarine, super-soft
4 eggs
2 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
*Mix well & then add:
1 1/2 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 C cocoa powder
1 C nuts, optional
*Pour into 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350' x 20-25 minutes. Remove when still slightly moist & some crumbs sticking to toothpick.

Icing:
4T butter
½ C packed brown sugar
½ C semi-sweet chocolate chips
3T milk
1 ½ C powdered sugar
2T unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract

*In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then add chocolate chips and milk. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
*Sift together cocoa and powdered sugar. Blend into butter mixture and add vanilla. If consistency is too stiff, add more milk.
*Spread/pour quickly over cooled cake, brownies, etc. as frosting will set up very fast.
